Coast Warehouse and CPS Express Headquarters Hosts K9 Unit Training

Our Mira Loma location that headquarters Coast Warehouse and CPS Express have been happy to welcome Adlerhorst International to use our facilities. Adlerhorst is a family-owned provider of canine dog training that range from basic handling to police enforcement patrol and detection certifications.

The team at Adlerhorst had been looking for a location in the Southern California region that could host training seminars for a while and our 250,000 square-foot Mira Loma location turned out to be the perfect fit! After our team visited the Adlerhorst facilities in Riverside, we were inspired by their mission and happily welcomed them to use our space and resources.

Since partnering with Adlerhorst, the team has visited us twice and used our vehicles and property to train police dogs and their handlers including having various narcotic and explosive scents hidden in and around our equipment for detection by the K9 units. Coast Warehouse and CPS Express have been happy to provide law enforcement personnel and dogs from different agencies across Southern California with a “real life” facility to train with exposure to conditions similar to what they would experience while out in the field. Adlerhorst is planning many more visits and we cannot wait to welcome them back in the future! The Haddy Family is honored to be a vital part of the success of these law enforcement units!

In addition to the our commitment to offer the best customized solutions for our customers’ varying packaging, warehousing and trucking needs, the J.G. Haddy Sales family also pledges to give back to our community at large as best we can.

30th Annual Jim Eastman Golf Tournament LOSERS AND WINNERS

If you didn’t attend the 30th annual Jim Eastman golf tournament you missed out on a great day on the links with fellow PEPA golf fanatics. This year’s tournament was outstanding – the golf course was in great condition, the weather was as good as it gets in So Cal, the players on par and the food was similar to the last year with one major deviation….dessert was served…as requested by David Will from Chino Valley Ranchers “AKA” the Chino Valley Golf Academy.

Once again and for the past 30 years, Karen Eastman was on hand to enjoy the festivities emceed by our favorite funny man Jim Ford - Coast Packaging Co. Joining the illustrious west and best coasties at the tournament were mid westerner Chris Collis from Pactiv…Chicago….(and I must mention that he took the most amazing route to get to the tournament…flying into John Wayne and out of LAX…what was he thinking…driving So. Cal freeways for fun?), David Collie from Coast Packaging….”repeeing” the Mile and always High State of Colorado, Tony Gutierrez, NutraBlend, Jeff Goward – Sanovo Technology, and John Nolte from Packaging Corporation of America…amazingly enough all three are from the great western desert state of ARIZONA.

As you know, it is our custom to celebrate the underdogs at this event…meaning we celebrate the LOSERS! This year’s foursome did not disappoint, led by, Trey Reish (VSI), Brother Terry, Dominic Diaz and Miguel Muñoz representing the Chino Valley Ranch Golf Academy. Dubbed by the course pro as “Most Honest”….this illustrious foursome embodied the best of any losers on any course, anywhere on any day. They were rewarded for their efforts with the best “chicken hats” ever and fashionable burnt orange oversized T-shirts just in time to celebrate Halloween. CONGRATULATIONS to the gang of four.

I would be remiss if we didn’t at least mention the winners of the tournament…carding a 17 under for a score of 55 (ARE YOU KIDDING ME - how is that even possible???), Chad Willardson (yes he is related to Craig) from Pacific Capital, Gordon Fraser (the dern foreigner originally from Scotland) and Jon Betham.

And hearty congratulations to closest to the pin winner front nine, John Bedell representing J.S. West Milling Co.…. Closest to the Pin back nine Ron Jorgenson from Norco Ranch, Longest Drive Women (2nd year in a row)….Kim Hernandez from Haley Farms and last but certainly not least Most Accurate Drive winner representing the loser group and Veterinary Service Inc..Trey Reish.

Year after year the Jim Eastman tournament is one of the largest benefactors of the Western Poultry Scholarship & Research Foundation (WPSRF). This year the WPSRF was well represented by President, Kim Hernandez, Vice President, Trey Reish and Secretary/Treasurer Kathy Nichols, and board member John Bedell.

And we all know the success of the tournament is due to our stupendous sponsors and players at the event. You will certainly wish that you had attended as you read that our GRAND PRIZE sponsors Hidden Villa Ranch, Nichols Egg Ranch, Coast Packaging Co. and Ken Lee Service and Supply Inc., donated a trip to Cabo San Lucas or a $4,200 Costco gift card. Libation sponsors on the course and at the banquet were Coast Packaging Co., and Mayhew & Associates. Winner winner chicken dinner was Mike Hogan, Merial Select…

J.G. Haddy Sales Family Remembers Jim Eastman

As the 30th annual Jim Eastman Golf Tournament nears, the J.G. Haddy Sales Family would like to celebrate the memory of the tournament’s namesake, Jim Eastman. Eastman will be remembered by many in the egg industry, particularly Coast Packaging’s very own Jim Ford, as an “eggstraordinary” friend—hailed as smart, funny and witty with integrity. Unfortunately for the entire community, Eastman was tragically killed by a drunk driver three decades ago. He was survived by his wife and 3 children.

Jim Eastman was so well-liked and respected within the poultry and feed business, his friends felt it important to keep his memory alive by developing a fundraiser to benefit students and research in the poultry industry. In celebration of Jim’s great loves for golf, education and the egg industry, the Jim Eastman Golf Tournament was born. 30 years later, Coast Packaging’s Jim Ford is still spearheading the event, which has now raised over $150,000 to benefit scholarships and research in the poultry industry. Karen Eastman, Jim’s wife, still attends the event every year and continually mentions that Jim would be so pleased that this golf tournament and raffle has blessed the lives of so many.

Coast Packaging, and the entire J.G. Haddy Sales family, is privileged to be a large part of the planning and sponsorship of this event since Day One. We are looking forward to another day filled with great golf, delicious food and fun people in the spirit of charity and community this year on October 6th at the Sierra Lakes Golf Club!

J.G. Haddy Sales Company Looks Forward to 30th Annual Jim Eastman Golf Tournament

This October, the J.G. Haddy Sales family will be participating in the 30th annual Jim Eastman Golf Tournament and Dinner. The event is held by the Pacific Egg and Poultry Association (PEPA) and supports their Western Poultry Scholarship and Research Foundation. Coast Packaging Co, has been privileged to be a large part of the planning and sponsorship of this event since Day One.

As the name suggests, the event celebrates the memory of Jim Eastman, a well-respected member of the poultry and feed industry whose untimely death at the hands of a drunk driver inspired loved ones to establish the event. Coast Packaging’s very own Jim Ford, along with other close friends of Eastman, started the event 30 years ago with the intent of keeping Eastman’s memory alive by developing a fundraiser that would benefit students and research of the poultry industry. Since the event’s inception, more than $300,000 dollars has been raise for PEPA’s foundation and over 50 individuals’ educations have benefited from the resulting scholarships.

Jim’s surviving wife, Karen Eastman, attends the event every year and continually reinforces that Jim would be so pleased that the tournament and raffle has blessed the lives of so many. This year’s event is sure not to disappoint as Jim Ford and his team have big plans to make this 30th anniversary event something really special!

This year’s event will be held on October 6, 2016 at the Sierra Lakes Golf Club in Fontana, CA. See attached photo for a flashback from the 1st annual event . From left to right it is Bill Smerber (Coast Packaging Co, CPS Express and Coast Warehouse Company’s longest employee and current shareholder of parent company JG Haddy Sales Co., Inc ); Bob Kelly (Hidden Villa Ranch); Dave Benson (McAnally Enterprises) and unknown USDA egg inspector.

In addition to the our commitment to offer the best customized solutions for our customers’ varying packaging, warehousing and trucking needs, the J.G. Haddy Sales family also pledges to give back to our community at large as best we can.

Thank You to PEPA for the 29th Annual Jim Eastman Golf Tournament

Last October 1st, the Pacific Egg and Poultry Association (PEPA) held their the 29th annual Jim Eastman Golf Tournament and Dinner at the Sierra Lakes Golf Club in Fontana, CA. Jim Ford from JG Haddy Sales Co., Inc which includes Coast Packaging, CPS Express and Coast Warehouse Companies was again the Emcee. This annual event brings golf-lovers together to benefit the Western Poultry Scholarship and Research Foundation.

This foundation exists as a result of the charitable spirit of the Pacific Egg and Poultry Association. PEPA is a regional nonprofit agricultural trade association which has served the egg and poultry industry for over 90 years. Through a united voice and cooperative actions, PEPA enhances the viability of the poultry and egg industries in the eleven Western States and Canada, and its ability to produce and market the highest quality food products to the consumer in a competitive manner.

Through the Western Poultry Scholarship and Research Foundation, PEPA has been helping nurture careers and research in the poultry industry since 1965. The foundation awards scholarships to the next generation of egg farmers and allied service industry people that will provide promise for the future of the poultry industry by offering funds for full-time undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in poultry curriculum. Jim Ford, Kurt Allen and Joe Haddy (Founder of Coast Packaging and JG Haddy Sales Co, Inc.-deceased) are all past presidents of PEPA.

Over the life of the tournament PEPA has raised more than $300,000 dollars for the foundation. The J.G. Haddy family is proud to have been a part of this tournament for the last 29 years. Please see the 2015 tournament’s winning foursome (pictured). The winning team was comprised of Jim Ford, Ted Kozikowski, Ross Riedinger, Steve Nichols (left to right).
